Waking and Aching

There’s an emptiness that cannot be filled

And not to mention,

Those visions you sometimes have,

When you have everything you want.

We were standing in a doctor’s office

And I was scared for some unknown reason,

When I felt a warm hand encase mine.

I look up and see you there, beside me.

You tell me it’s okay to be scared, and that

I will always have you there by my side.

But when I wake up, there’s no one beside me.

And the dream hurts; as if we’ve fallen apart again.
